Shades of the sunset, along with braille depicting the first 1,800 digits of phi.

The first 1,800 digits of phi

Info:

Acrylic on Canvas, 93 x 93cm

Year:

2025

Inspired by the colours of the setting sun, this painting represents the first 1,800 digits of phi. This artwork visually explores how this particular irrational number presents itself.

This painting contains 12 unique colours and is split into 3 sections. Each section contains 10 colours, with each colour representing a number from 0 - 9. The wooden triangles are in the 3rd section and represent the number 9. I have included braille within each coloured triangle to show which colour corresponds to which number.

Framed using painted pine wood.
